Bill Merckel, ALC, RealtorŪ, and sales associate at Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE) in Lakeland, FL, has been elected as an Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) member of the REALTORSŪ Land Institute (RLI). The announcement was made by RLI (www.RLILand.com), which is headquartered in Chicago, IL and is an affiliate of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORSŪ. Merckel is the second RealtorŪ at the Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate office to receive the ALC designation. Dean Saunders, owner and licensed real estate broker, obtained the ALC designation in 2001. In addition, three other CBCSRE RealtorsŪ are candidates for ALC, having completed a portion of the extensive coursework required.

Merckel is a member of the Lakeland Board of REALTORSŪ and the Florida RLI Chapter. He joins an elite group of land specialists who have attained an expert level of knowledge and experience. Recognized throughout North America as the pinnacle of achievement for land real estate specialists, the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation is awarded to RLI members who meet rigorous knowledge and experience requirements. Accredited Land Consultants are members of the RLI Land Network, a business network of over 2,800 land specialists throughout North America.

Earning a degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL in the School of Business/Business Administration, he has been a licensed real estate agent for 6 years, a member of RLI for 6 years, and a RealtorŪ with Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate since 2001. As recently as last year, Merckel earned the Coldwell Banker Commercial 2006 top recognition by ranking #1 in the state of Florida, #1 in the Southeast Region/United States, and #3 globally in the entire Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliate, Inc. network for sales volume. In 2005, he earned the Circle of Distinction Platinum Award, given by Coldwell Banker Commercial, again for sales volume.
