DeanSaundersWeb.jpgKnown as a conservation leader, Dean Saunders of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate is pleased to announce the sale of 186 +/- acres in Florida’s Polk County for $9,500,000. Purchased as conservation lands by SWFWMD (Southwest Florida Water Management District), the property was owned by Summertimes Ranch.

The purchase is a part of a larger plan to maintain wetlands habitats and provide outdoor recreational areas for the public. The property is located on the southern end of the the 4,500+ -acre Lake Hancock near Saddle Creek and becomes part of a comprehensive plan to create a reservoir to raise lake levels. By raising lake levels, the flow of Peace River can be managed during dry seasons. Properties in the targeted area continue to be purchased due to the flood plain that risks flooding.

“This is a significant conservation purchase for Polk County. SWFWMD’s purchase will help Polk County maintain healthy lake and river levels, as well as protect native species and habitats. That is good for all of us,” says Saunders.

Saunders holds the ALC (Accredited Land Consultant) certification from RLI (Realtor’s Land Institute) and leads the award-winning CBC Saunders Real Estate business located in Lakeland, FL. The company and agents continue to accrue awards for outstanding sales performance each year.
