Commissioned Fine Art Painting of Florida Timberlands Unveiled at 9th Annual BBQ and Commemorates the Launch of CBC Saunders Real Estate’s New Forestry Group

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LAKELAND, FL (November 13, 2013) – The 9th annual Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate BBQ was the venue where another exceptional original painting of Florida land was unveiled.

Each year, Dean Saunders, ALC, CCIM, real estate broker and owner of CBC Saunders Real Estate, commissions an original painting from a known artist, who is asked to portray a selected land scene of natural Florida land. These original paintings are added to The Saunders Collection.

This year there was much to celebrate as the new painting commemorates the launch of a new business segment earlier in the year – the CBCSRE Forestry Group. The painting is the eighth in the collection. “Working the Pines: Early 1900s Turpentine Harvesting” is a scene from the northern Florida timberland area and created by well-known Florida wildlife artist Thomas Brooks.  The CBCSRE Forestry Group it commemorates is a business segment that specializes in timberland. Associate brokers and agents, who are professional foresters, have joined this division and expands the reach of the company.

The Saunders Collection was started in 2004 with the first series theme, “Natural Lands of Florida.” This first series portrays scenes of untouched Florida natural lands and habitats, created by Brooks. In 2011, a new series, “Florida Agricultural Heritage” began with paintings by fine artist David Escadero of New Mexico and Lakeland, Florida’s nature and wildlife fine artist, Michael J. Nowak. The annual BBQ was held in the authentic, antique-laden working barn of Wanda and Leland Young in Alturas, FL. A gift of a full-sized Giclée reproduction of the original painting was presented to the Youngs.

CBC Saunders Real Estate hosts the BBQ each year as a fun event for over 300 clients, associates, friends, CBC Corporate, and community leaders. In attendance are local, county, and sometimes state government officials, including Lakeland’s newly elected Mayor, Howard Wiggs. Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Ralston Dantzler, Polk County commercial real estate firm and sister company, was co-host.
