Fred Saunders is a licensed real estate agent specializing in agricultural and horticultural land. He has decades of experience working closely with citrus and blueberry growers, where he was the first in Florida to plant blueberries south of Ocala.
He is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he obtained a BS degree in Agriculture with a major in Citrus. A long-time citrus production manager for RD Keene Trust, he also offers services as a grove care consultant. He has a broad history in blueberry farming, served on the board of directors for the Florida Blueberry Association and served six years with the MBG Marketing (Michigan Blueberry Association) to promote blueberries in Florida.
For eight years, Fred served as an appointee to the Florida State Committee of the Farms Services Agency (USDA). For over a decade, he has worked with agricultural land in the real estate industry.
He is past president of the Citrus Production Managers Association, served as president and chairman of the board for the Florida State Horticultural Society, and served on the Lake County Citrus Extension Advisory Committee.
Additional service in past president roles include the Florida Blueberry Growers Association, the Florida Citrus Production Managers Association, and the University of Florida Fruit Crops Association. He served on the board of directors of the Michigan Blueberry Growers Association and the Hughes Memorial Foundation.
Saunders is a member of the Lakeland Association of Realtor® (LAR) and resides in Clermont, FL.
