164-Acre Producing Citrus Grove in South Polk County Sells for $1.2 Million


LAKELAND, FL July 7, 2011 – Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE) in Lakeland, FL, announces the recent sale of 164  +/- acres in Bowling Green, FL, in South Polk County. The property is a producing citrus grove and was on the market for approximately 15 months. The grove sold for $1,215,000.

The CBCSRE licensed real estate sales associate who handled the deal was John Evans, Realtor®, who represented the seller.

The new owners of the grove will continue citrus production. The grove’s production numbers are expected to increase exponentially over the next few years from the 128 +/- acres of Hamlins, 20 +/- acres Valencias, and 16 +/- acres Sunburst.

“The citrus grove market is very active today, partly because the price of fruit has gone up. People are looking for good producing groves, as well as groves that are dilapidated and poised for a rehab, where they can get a bargain price. Groves in the path of progress are even more lucrative because one can make money from the citrus production today, but be ready for development options in the future,” Evans added.
