LAKELAND, FL May 22, 2014 – Launched in July of 2013, the Saunders Gives Back program was created to give ongoing financial support to the Florida Cattlemen’s Association (FCA) Foundation. Created by Dean Saunders, ALC, CCIM, of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE), the program was recently able to present Jim Strickland, Chairman of the Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation (FCA), with a check for $37,500 to help fund the FCA foundation.

Saunders along with Erik Jacobsen, Ag Reserves, LLC, presented the check to Strickland at CBCSRE’s annual Lay of the Land Florida Land Conference on April 4, 2014, at Streamsong Resort.

The sizeable donation was generated from a transaction between AgReserves, LLC and the St. Joe Company. The purchase of 380,000 +/- acres of timberland in North Florida was represented by Dean Saunders and Jack Vogel of CBCSRE.

Jim Strickland, Chairman of the Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation expressed, “I love people that think outside the box and Dean and his group does. This idea and concept of what they have done are so helpful to the ranchers, landowners, and the agriculturalists of Florida. Any money Dean gets through this program, he is going to give back a portion to the landowners of Florida. ”

The SGB program is set up for FCA members to be able to participate in funding the FCA Foundation through property referrals to CBCSRE. Once sold and closed, 5 percent of the agency’s commission from the referring party’s transaction side is contributed to the FCA Foundation. The donations from this program help to sustain and preserve the heritage of Florida cattle ranchers. Florida’s cattle industry is one of the 15 largest in the United States, has been a strong supporter of Florida’s youth, and has worked diligently to give back to the communities they serve.

As a long-time Florida land real estate broker and member of FCA, Saunders has strong ties to the association and the rich tradition of Florida landowners, ranchers, cattlemen, and Florida conservation.
