LAKELAND, FL March 12, 2014 – Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE) announced the recent sale of two citrus groves totaling 505 +/- acres closing for $3,750,000. The operating citrus groves are located in LaBelle, Florida in Hendry County. Fred Saunders, from CBCSRE, represented both the seller and the buyer.
The two groves, known as Southern Belle Grove and South Glades Grove, are currently operating citrus groves. Southern Belle Grove has been in operation since 1964 and South Glades Grove has been in operation since 1984. Both groves have only produced Valencia Oranges.
The new owners intend to continue the grove operation.
Saunders is a 55-year veteran of the citrus industry. He is the long-time Citrus Production Manager for RD Keene Trust and a grove care consultant. He has decades of experience working closely with citrus and blueberry growers. For eight years, Saunders served as the appointee to the Florida State Committee of the Farms Services Agency (USDA).
He currently specializes in, citrus groves, agricultural and horticultural properties in Central Florida.
