LAKELAND, FL May 5, 2010 – Dean Saunders, ALC, Licensed Real Estate Broker, and owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate in Lakeland, FL, recently spoke to a group of land real estate professionals and brokers from all over the country. The RLI 2010 National Land Conference was held in Fort Worth, Texas.
Speaking to the national Realtors® Land Institute (RLI) group, Saunders was a part of the speakers’ session “Facing the Elements in Government Affairs: Air, Wind, Water, Carbon & Conservation.” As a former legislator involved in the creation of significant conservation legislation, as well as an author of the award-winning publication “We Create Solutions: A Primer on Conservation Easements”, Saunders has built a solid reputation as a conservation easement expert.
During the session, Saunders spoke about conservation easements, why clients need to know about this opportunity, the process for conservation easement acquisition, the tax advantages of donating conservation easements, and the way conservations easements are used in regulatory environment and mitigation banks.
Organized in 1944, The Realtors Land Institute (www.rliland.com) is the a branch of the National Association of Realtors® (www.realtor.org) that focuses on land brokerage transactions of five specialized types: farms and ranches, undeveloped tracts of land, transitional and development land, subdivision and wholesaling of lots, and site selection and assemblage of land parcels.

He is a past president of the Florida Chapter of RLI. In 2003, Saunders was selected as one of the exclusive nine “Notables” by the National Association of Realtors®.
Saunders is a member Realtor® of the Lakeland Association of Realtors® and is near completion of the extensive requirements to become a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). As an industry expert, Saunders is often published and quoted in a variety of respected journals, such as Florida Real Estate
Journal and Florida Trend. Saunders authored the benchmark and award-winning consumer publication, “We Create Solutions: A Primer on Conservation Easements”, and produces a popular real estate conference on a variety of real estate market subjects.
