FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAKELAND, FL April 25, 2013 – A powerful program for Florida landowners was presented at the Lay of the Land Florida Land Conference 2013, held on April 5, 2013 in Polk County. Bringing in attendees from far states, such as New York and North Dakota, the conference proved to be a valuable, state-of-the-art look at Florida land values.
The conference, hosted by Dean Saunders, ALC, CCIM, broker and owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate in Lakeland, FL, was the fifth land conference event produced by Saunders.
Saunders spoke at length, summarizing verified sales data and land values for 2012 for specific property types, such as citrus, ranchland, recreational land, timberland, residential development land (bulk lots and entitled land), farmland, and conservation easements. “Looking back to the 2012 land market, we saw moderate land sales activity. We made every effort to capture all land sales in Florida. in the certain property types that we target, to create a credible market analysis that is not based only on professional opinion, but also based upon verified sales data,” states Saunders.
His ongoing work on land values is the result of years of effort put into technology, staff, and an appraiser network, to capture verified sales data for these property types across the entire State of Florida. This method provides a unique and distinct way for land values to be analyzed with results that are credible and reliable.
In a statement released by Eric O’Keefe, Sr., Editor-in-Chief and Eddie Lee Rider, Jr., Publisher of the national land magazine, The Land Report, they said, “Any brokerage that is considering inviting their top clients to a conference will be hard-pressed to match the efforts of Dean Saunders and his team at Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate. Raw intel, industry insights, a great lineup of speakers – the 2013 Lay of the Land Conference presented all of the above and much more. Count on continued support – and praise – from The Land Report in years to come.”
The land conference was held at the new Streamsong® Golf Resort in Polk County and included additional speakers, such as The Honorable Tom Rooney, US House of Representatives Florida’s 17th District; Tom Sunnarborg, VP Land Development, The Mosaic Company/Streamsong® Resort; Karen Halliburton Barber, Asst. VP & Senior Ag Analyst, Rabobank; Eric O’Keefe, Editor-in-Chief, The Land Report “The Magazine of the American Landowner;” and Dr. Brad O’Connor, Research Economist, Florida Realtors®. Each put the real estate market into context from a political, agricultural, and economic perspective. Sponsors of the event were The Land Report and Rabobank.
The land conference serves as a forum for the “Lay of the Land” market information that is extrapolated, verified, and analyzed in the Lay of the Land Market Report publication. The issue just released includes documented data for the entire year of 2012 for these land types.
