Nearly 13,000 Acres of Florida Timberland Closed for $14 million-plus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LAKELAND, FL August 25, 2015 – Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE) announced the recent sale of 12,756 acres of timberland in Florida’s southern Lafayette County. The Brushy Hammock Timberlands closed July 15 for $14,669,400, or $1,150 per acre. The sale was brokered by Tony Wallace and Jack Vogel, both with CBCSRE’s Forestry Group. The seller was Mutual Land Company Inc.; the buyer was SPP Land, LLC.
Brushy Hammock Timberlands includes more than 5,500 acres of planted pine, with a good mixture of premerchantable and merchantable stands. It also has mature hardwood hammocks and forested wetlands. Abundant turkey, deer and hogs are available for hunting. The property is located six miles south of Mayo, FL. Florida land and conservation easements, transacting over $1.69 billion in sales from 1996 through early 2015.
