LAKELAND, FL, June 23, 2021 – SVN | Saunders Ralston Dantzler Real Estate is pleased to announce their partnership with JB Realty Partners on the acquisition and renovation of the iconic Nathan’s building in downtown Lakeland, Florida. David Hungerford, CCIM and Gary Ralston, CCIM, SIOR, CRE of SVN provided brokerage services to JB Realty Partners on both the acquisition of the property, as well as lease negotiations with one of the proposed tenants, Wauchula State Bank. Wauchula State Bank was founded in 1929 in Wauchula, Florida by J.W. Crews, Sr. Wauchula State Bank is part of the Crews Banking Corporation, a family-owned local company based in Wauchula, Florida. SVN and JB Realty Partners are excited to welcome Wauchula State Bank to Munn Park and have them become part of the downtown Lakeland community.
The building will also be occupied by Kimley-Horn and Banquet 61. Kimley-Horn will occupy the second floor of the building, which has not been occupied since the 1960’s. Kimley-Horn is a national planning and design engineering consultancy firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Banquet61 is a new concept by successful restaurateur and chef Marcos Fernandez of Nineteen61. Banquet61 will be adjacent to Nineteen61 and will provide full- service banquet facilities, including food and beverage, for the Lakeland community.
The Nathan’s Building was built in 1913 and has a long history with various tenants occupying the building throughout the years. Photos from the 1900’s show three separate tenants on the ground floor of the building, one of which was named Majestic. Subsequently, it was occupied by McCrory’s 5-10-25¢ Store and Rexall Drugs, and most recently by Nathan’s Men’s Store.
