USDA Purchases $4.9M Conservation Easement for Florida’s Wetlands Reserve Program by CBC | Saunders Real Estate

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (LAKELAND, FL – June 25, 2014) – Dean Saunders, ALC, CCIM of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE) announces a recent conservation easement sale to the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The 2,059 +/- acres, located in Highlands County, FL sold for $4,953,400 ($2,894 per acre). The conservation easement becomes a part of the Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP) that provides technical and financial assistance to landowners, in order to restore, protect, and enhance existing wetlands.

The landowner was represented by Saunders and the closing date was May 6, 2014.
